Transmission line:
Transmission system plays important role for supply of power to consumers from generating stations and distribution systems. Transmission system has been expanded over a period of years for evacuation of power from the generating stations to load centre through intra-state and inter-state transmission systems.
Transmission System is playing a catalyst rote in energy transition of our country, by extending the grid to renewable rich areas and facilitating the Renewable Energy projects to connect into the grid. India's power generation mix is rapidly shifting towards a more significant share of renewable energy. Today, India is one the largest producer of renewable energy coming from non-fossil fuel sources. IREDA is financing transmission line projects as per the Policy for Financing Transmission Projects.
